Our current sermon series: Thanks, Help, Wow!
For the past two Sundays, we have explored two of Anne Lamott’s essential prayers. We began with Thanks, pausing to recognize the grace we have received and the people whose gifts have blessed us. Then we prayed Help, remembering that needing one another is not weakness and that God’s help often reaches us through human hands.
This Sunday, only one prayer remains: WOW! What a fitting prayer for Montgomery United Methodist Church’s 60th anniversary. For sixty years, people have gathered in this congregation to worship, grow, serve, and love. They have baptized children, celebrated marriages, mourned loved ones, taught Sunday school, shared meals, offered music, been good stewards of the building, served neighbors, and carried one another through difficult seasons. We inherited this church because generations before us offered their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
And now it is our turn—not simply to preserve what they built, but to continue the story with faith, creativity, compassion, and courage. On Sunday, we will remember those who came before us, celebrate the vibrant congregation we are today, and look toward the future with hope. We are honored to welcome Mayor Neena Singh, District Superintendent Sang Won Doh, past pastors, former members, friends, neighbors, and all who have been part of MUMC’s story.
We hope you will join us for our for our service at 10:00 AM, followed immediately by a time of rememberance, fellowship, and celebration!

Join us as we celebrate 60 years of God's faithfulness!
Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 13 as Montgomery UMC celebrates 60 years of God's faithfulness! During our 10 AM Homecoming Worship Service, we'll give thanks for our rich history, welcome former pastors and friends, and celebrate all God has done — and all God is still doing — through this congregation. A special reception will follow worship. We hope you’ll join us! .
